[...] Peep Show successfully mixes the raw sleaze of Crashdiet with the horror and vocal stylings of Wednesday 13 and his band the Murderdolls. Because of this combination Peep Show aren't very commercial - they are way too rough, sleazy and belligerent to ever be considered mainstream. It is these qualities that make the band work though as they have the potential to be one of those groups that succeeds with an under-ground cult following. [...] Out For Blood is one of those discs that people are either going to love or hate - there is no middle ground here - and it would make the perfect soundtrack to a B-movie. There is no doubt Peep Show is rough around the edges, but that is part of their charm. I have a feeling that the band has yet to reach their peak, and with a little more help from the Crashdiet gang could release something very special in the future.

[...] "Peep Show" is one of them who "get it". I grew up with this style of rock, I bought up everything I could find that resembled Motley Crue or L.A. Guns, I've heard it all. These guys could have been a huge band back then, they are that good.[...] Peep Show should have as much of an appeal to the guys as the girls, they're sexually charged, avoiding the sappy ballads and they're not trying to talk over our heads, they're just rocking out, kicking ass and having a fucking good time.

De la tierra del whisky y las gaitas llega esta excelente banda llamada Peep Show, la cual presenta su primera producción discográfica titulada "Out For Blood". Si bien la imagen de la banda por momentos hace pensar en una agrupación gótica no hay nada más alejado de la realidad. Y es que Peep Show es una banda con alta influencia del punk de los setentas y el hard rock de los ochentas. Fácilmente se pueden escuchar reminiscencias a bandas como Sex Pistols y los Guns N Roses. Bastante curiosos los pseudónimos utilizados por los cuatro músicos ya que parecen sacados de un bar del Sunset Strip.

[...] Il quartetto sembra proprio aver trovato, fra castelli ameni, whiskey e giornate piovose, un proprio piccolo angolo di Sunset Strip. Cancellate dalla vostra mente in un secondo l'immagine del tipico scozzese con tanto di kilt e cornamusa, ecco che vi troverete sparati in faccia una band affamata e con il coltello fra i denti, sporca e dannata al punto giusto, il sangue e l'immagine di copertina "vampiresca" farebbero pensare a qualcosa di più vicino a Wednesday 13/Murderdolls –che sì possono esser citati qua e là fra le influenze- ma fin dalle prime note di apertura, con l'opener "The Stand", fanno ben capire di non seguire tanto le band succitate ma di darci invece qualcosa di abbastanza personale, diretto, grezzo e potente, ma molto legato alla scena glam hard rock degli 80s, pur con qualche tocco più legato ad alcuni dischi del più recente passato.[...]

Nuova uscita per la Street Symphonies che ci propone questa volta un gruppo scozzese: i Peepshow debuttano quindi per la label italiana con questo "Out For Blood", disco uscito precedentemente in maniera indipendente e completamente autoprodotto dalla band. I ragazzi ci sanno fare ed hanno un bel tiro: pensate alla scuola hard rock scandinava (Hardcore Superstar e Crash Diet su tutti) che ovviamente si rifà a sua volta a quella americana (Guns e soci). Ecco, i Peepshow ci propongono dieci pezzi dal tiro micidiale e con alcuni hook potenzialmente molto pericolosi. [...]

PeepShow is what you get when you cross Pretty Boy Floyd with a band that prefers not to use extraneous Zs in their spelling (Leather boyz? Electric toyz?). They look like glam hair metal gone hardcore. They mean business. They mean blood. They’re Out For Blood. Hah. Oh come on, it had to be said. The lead singer has blood all over his face, he’s asking for a dumb pun. And that’s the best you get on short notice. It’s actually harder to classify them than one might think though. They use movie samples like they’re in competition with Iron Maiden, they have insipid choruses with liberal uses of the word “baby,” but then they also have harder songs, bordering on punk, that show how capable they are of putting a serious song together...[...]

Da Peep Shows album Out For Blood landede på mit skrivebord kunne jeg straks genkende både navn og cover fra et profilbesøg på Myspace, og jeg havde med det samme en forventning om, at dette ville vise sig, at være en rigtig god cd.[...] På trods af at frontmand Johnny Gun på intet tidpunkt formår at imponere mig synderligt med sin vokal har Peep Show lavet og leveret en habil skive sleaze, som jeg synes rockelskere skal sætte på, hvis de vil fyre op under en fest og hvis de i hele taget elsker moderne sleaze/glam rock.

Il genere proposto dal gruppo britannico è un canonico glam metal con qualche zampillo di Wednesday 13, dieci canzoni che potranno piacere al classico utente di SLAM! e alla nuova generazione di glamster fedele alle band scandinave (ascoltate "Turn It Up" o "Take The Fall" e ditemi se non sembrano dei pezzi di CRASHDÏET o CRAZY LIXX).[...]
Ad ogni modo un buon lavoro che i Peep Show corredano di una più che discreta resa sonora e di qualche pezzo da tenere nell'IPod... una formazione da tenere d'occhio per chi segue il nuovo glam metal.

Ci sono tutti gli ingredienti della vecchia scuola, più qualche inclinazione al fetish rock n’roll, a base di “sex & blood” derivato da Murderdolls e Wednesday13: il sound, l’appeal melodico, la stravaganza (termine molto in voga in questo periodo…) e l’effetto shock dell’immagine e delle liriche. Ad ogni modo, nonostante questo disco non si riveli eclatante, ha un buon “tiro” ed una grandiosa produzione, che lo rendono sicuramente un articolo desiderabile da parte della new glam generation. I fan più vecchi, invece, troveranno qualche spunto di interesse da parte di alcuni brani, tipo “Out For Blood” e “Teenage Nightmare”, che sembrano esser stati estrapolati da un eventuale catalogo trash/punk degli Shotgun Messiah.
